Danish Pastry Cream Cheese Cylinders

Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface.
Cut the pastry into rectangles, about 4x6 inches.
In a bowl, mix cream cheese, sugar, vanilla extract, and lemon zest until smooth.
Spoon a portion of the cream cheese mixture onto the center of each pastry rectangle.
Fold the edges of the pastry over the filling to form a cylinder, sealing the edges with egg wash.
Place the filled pastries on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Brush the tops with egg wash for a golden finish.
Bake in the preheated oven until puffed and golden, about 15-20 minutes.
Remove from the oven and let cool slightly.
In a small bowl, whisk together powdered sugar and milk to make a glaze.
Drizzle the glaze over the warm pastries before serving.
