Wash the rice in running water to remove excess starch.
Transfer the washed rice to a rice cooker.
Pour 12 oz of liquid chicken or beef broth over the uncooked rice, or mix 12 oz of water with 1 tbsp of powdered beef or chicken bouillon if preferred.
Set the rice cooker to cook for about 15 to 20 minutes.
Season the salmon fillet with a dash of salt and ground pepper.
Heat about 4 tbsp of olive oil in a frying pan or electric skillet.
Fry the salmon fillet in olive oil for 5 to 6 minutes on medium heat on both sides.
In a measuring cup, add 1 tbsp of honey, 1 tbsp of reduced sodium soy sauce, 1 tbsp of water, and 1/8 teaspoon of ground ginger; mix gently.
Toss in a dash of crushed pepper flakes into the glaze mixture.
When the salmon fillet is almost done, pour in the honey glaze and simmer on low heat for about 1 to 2 minutes.
Remove the salmon fillet from the pan and set aside.
Chop about 1/2 cup of fresh cilantro, using scissors for easier cutting.
Squeeze about 2 tbsp of fresh lime juice and prepare about 1 tbsp of lime zest.
Combine the lime juice with the lime zest.
Fluff the cooked rice with a fork and mix in the lime juice and zest.
Mix in the chopped cilantro and a dash of red pepper flakes for added spice and appearance.
Serve the cilantro rice on a plate or bowl with the ginger glazed salmon fillet.
