1

Begin by boiling a large pot of salted water for the pasta.

2

Cut a half of a French bread in half for garlic bread preparation.

3

Mince about a handful of parsley and a handful of mint leaves.

4

Cut 8 oz of center cut bacon into small pieces.

5

Melt 1 cup of butter on the stovetop.

6

Add minced garlic to the melted butter and stir.

7

Add minced parsley to the garlic butter mixture and a tiny amount of salt.

8

Spoon the garlic butter mixture over the French bread and set aside.

9

Cook 8 oz of penne pasta in the boiling water until al dente, about 9 minutes.

10

In a skillet over medium heat, add 1 tablespoon of olive oil and the bacon pieces; sauté until brown and crisp, about 3-5 minutes.

11

Add 1 cup of heavy cream to the skillet with the bacon and let it reduce and thicken, stirring occasionally for about 1 minute.

12

Stir in 1 teaspoon of Italian seasoning, 1 1/2 cups of frozen peas, the minced parsley, and the minced mint leaves into the cream mixture.

13

Add black pepper to taste, then off the heat, stir in 1 cup of grated Parmesan cheese until combined.

14

Transfer the cooked pasta to the skillet using a spider, and add a bit of reserved pasta water to thin out the sauce as needed.

15

Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C) and place the garlic bread in the oven for about 5 minutes.

16

After 5 minutes, transfer the garlic bread under the broiler for 1 minute to crisp up.

17

Cut the garlic bread into pieces and serve alongside the pasta.
