In a large pot over medium-high heat, sauté onions in olive oil and season with salt and pepper. Cook until onions become translucent.

Add butternut squash to the pot. Stir often and cook until soft, about 8-10 minutes.

Once squash is softened, season with garlic, ground sage, and dried rosemary. Stir until thoroughly combined.

Lastly, add vegetable broth to the pot and stir to combine.

Bring to a boil then reduce heat to a simmer. Cover and cook until squash is tender, about 20-30 minutes.

After cooking, allow the mixture to slightly cool before transferring it to a blender. Blend until smooth.
