1

Welcome back to my channel. Today I'm going to show you how to make a classic Jamaican dessert called To-To.

2

Start with flour, which is a must. Aerate the flour in a bowl with a whisk.

3

Add baking powder and baking soda to the flour for leavening.

4

Add salt to the flour mixture.

5

Add spices: cinnamon and freshly grated nutmeg. Freshly grated nutmeg is important.

6

Combine all dry ingredients in the bowl.

7

Now move on to the wet ingredients: melted butter, sugar, eggs, milk, and vanilla extract.

8

In a separate bowl, combine the wet ingredients.

9

Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix with a wooden spoon. You can mix it well to get the lumps out.

10

Add 2 cups of freshly grated coconut to the mixture. You can use store-bought coconut or coconut milk if you prefer less coconut.

11

Pour the batter into a 9x9 baking pan.

12

Bake in the oven at 350°F for 30 to 40 minutes.

13

After about 40 minutes, take it out of the oven and let it cool for about 16 minutes.

14

Remove the To-To from the pan and cut it with a serrated knife. It should cut like a brownie.

15

Serve and enjoy the To-To.
