Add hazelnuts to a blender with water and a splash of vanilla extract. Blend for 5 minutes. Strain the mixture using a mesh strainer and muslin cloth. Chill the hazelnut milk in the fridge.

Drizzle the inside of a tall glass generously with vegan caramel sauce.

Fill the glass with ice cubes.

Pour in the chilled hazelnut milk.

Prepare a double shot of espresso (or 60 mL of strong coffee).
