Greek yogurt reduces calories while maintaining creaminess
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees.
Chop or tear the bread into pieces and place it in a pan.
If using, rehydrate raisins in hot water for about 10 minutes, then drain.
Whip the eggs in a bowl.
Add sugar, a pinch of sea salt, vanilla extract or vanilla bean, milk, and heavy whipping cream (or half and half) to the whipped eggs and mix well.
Pour the egg mixture over the torn bread, ensuring all pieces are soaked.
Let the bread mixture sit for a few minutes to absorb the liquid.
If desired, add the rehydrated raisins to the mixture and stir gently.
Bake in the preheated oven for approximately 45 minutes or until set and golden brown.
