1 tbsp + 1 tsp unsweetened cocoa powder
3/4 cups sugar
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 cup canola oil
1/4 cup unsalted butter
1 egg
1 tsp pure vanilla extract
1/2 cup buttermilk
1/2 tsp distilled white vinegar
1 bottle of red food coloring
1 stick Butter
8 oz cream cheese
1 tsp vanilla extract
2 cups powdered sugar

Preheat the oven to 325°F.

In a mixing bowl, combine the cake flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

In another bowl, mix the canola oil, unsalted butter, egg, vanilla extract, buttermilk, and distilled white vinegar.

Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix until combined.

Add the red food coloring and mix until the batter is smooth.

Fill cupcake liners with the batter and bake for 15-17 minutes or until done.

While the cupcakes are baking, prepare the frosting by creaming together the stick of butter, cream cheese, and vanilla extract.
