Cut 200 grams of taro into cubes.
Steam the taro until easily pierced with a fork.
Mash the steamed taro while hot until smooth.
Add 110 grams of tapioca starch and mix until crumbly.
Add about 4 tablespoons of hot water and mix until a dough forms.
Knead the dough until it comes together.
Roll the dough into a log and cut into four sections, then cut those into smaller sections.
Shape each section into rectangular pieces and coat with tapioca starch to prevent sticking.
Boil water in a pot and drop the shaped pieces in, stirring occasionally.
Wait until the pieces float to the surface, then let them boil for an additional minute.
Remove the pieces and rinse in cold water, then mix with 2 tablespoons of sugar.
