In a mixing bowl, combine 2 blocks of softened cream cheese with 1/2 cup sugar, 1 teaspoon salt, 2 teaspoons lemon juice, and 2 teaspoons vanilla extract.
Separate 2 egg yolks from the whites; add yolks to the cream cheese mixture and set egg whites aside for brushing.
Mix the cream cheese filling until smooth with a hand mixer.
Spread cream cheese mixture onto the center of each pastry square.
Add a spoonful of chocolate cherry jam on top of the cream cheese filling.
Brush the edges of the pastry with the reserved egg whites.
Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, keeping an eye on them due to inconsistent oven heat.
