It is commonly served as a quick meal on busy weeknights and is loved for its ability to feed a crowd affordably.

Cut the medium onion into small pieces and set aside.
Heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
Add 1.5 pounds of ground beef to the skillet and cook for about 5 minutes until halfway cooked.
Add the chopped onion to the skillet and mix well.
Add 1/4 cup of frozen mixed red and green bell peppers to the skillet and cook for another 4-5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
If there's excess grease, remove it from the skillet before adding other ingredients.
Add 1.5 tablespoons of minced garlic to the skillet and cook for 30 seconds to 1 minute, stirring constantly to avoid scorching.
Pour in 1 cup of beef broth and mix it in with the other ingredients.
Add 2 cans of Italian-flavored diced tomatoes (14.5 oz each) to the skillet.
Add 27 oz of tomato sauce to the mixture and stir to combine.
Rinse the tomato sauce jar with a little water to get all the sauce out and add it to the skillet.
Add 1.5 tablespoons of soy sauce, 2 teaspoons of salt, 1 teaspoon of black pepper, 2 teaspoons of Italian seasoning, and 1 teaspoon of paprika to the skillet.
Mix all the ingredients thoroughly in the skillet.
Cover the skillet and bring the mixture to a boil.
Once boiling, reduce the heat to medium and let it cook for 15 minutes with the lid on.
After 15 minutes, stir the mixture and add 2 cups of elbow macaroni.
Cover the skillet again and cook for another 20 minutes on medium heat.
After 20 minutes, remove the lid and stir the mixture, which should have thickened.
Turn off the heat and let it sit for 3-4 minutes to thicken further before serving.
Plate the goulash and add cheese on top to taste.
