Knead the dough on a floured surface until smooth, about 10 minutes.
Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise until doubled, about 1 hour.
Punch down the dough and divide it into three equal pieces.
Roll each piece into a long rope, about 12-15 inches.
Braid the three ropes together, pinching the ends to seal.
Place the braided loaf on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Cover and let rise again until puffy, about 30 minutes.
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
Brush the loaf with an egg wash for shine.
Bake until golden brown, about 25-30 minutes.
Cool on a wire rack before slicing.
