Heat 1 cup of cream and 1 cup of butter until warm and combined.
Add the steamed cabbage to the potatoes in the pot.
Add chopped green onions to the mixture without cooking them, or add them to the cabbage for a softer flavor.
Mash the potatoes, cream, and butter together until smooth.
If the mixture is too dry, add some reserved potato cooking water, being cautious with salt.
Serve family style with a hole in the center filled with melted butter.
