Add 1.5 pounds of ground pork to a skillet.
Pour in 1/2 cup of boiling water.
Add 1 clove of chopped garlic and 1 small minced onion to the meat.
Cook over low heat, stirring until the meat is no longer pink, then cover and simmer for 45 minutes.
Mash 3 medium potatoes after cooking them.
Mix the mashed potatoes with the meat mixture and let it cool before adding to the pie.
Roll out a double crust for a 9-inch pie pan.
Preheat the oven to 450°F (232°C).
Place the pie in the oven for 10 minutes, then reduce the temperature to 350°F (177°C) and bake for an additional 30 minutes, covering with foil if necessary to prevent over-browning.
