2 cups maseca
1/2 cup lukewarm water
1/2 cup ground chicharron
1 cup mozzarella cheese
1 teaspoon salt

Quantities are estimated based on standard recipes for your convenience. The actual ingredients used in this video are accurate.

1

Cut the cabbage finely and place it in a container.

2

Chop half an onion and add it to the cabbage.

3

Grate two or three peeled carrots and add them to the cabbage and onion mixture.

4

Add around three spoons of dried oregano to the salad.

5

Optionally, add garlic salt to the salad for flavor.

6

Add eight dried chiles de arbol to the salad.

7

Add one cup of white vinegar and one cup of water to a blender.

8

Add a spoonful of salt to the blender with the vinegar and water.

9

Blend the mixture quickly and pour it over the salad to marinate.

10

Mix the salad with one hand to combine all ingredients, using gloves to avoid touching your face.

11

Let the salad sit for one to two hours, or refrigerate it for better flavor.

12

To make pupusas, use maseca (corn flour) and add two and a half cups to a bowl.

13

Add lukewarm water little by little to the corn flour, mixing with your hands until a dough forms.

14

Knead the dough until it reaches a nice consistency, ensuring it won't crack when cooked.

15

Prepare filling by mixing ground chicharron and mozzarella cheese in a bowl, optionally adding a little salt.

16

Take a portion of dough, flatten it, and fill it with the chicharron and cheese mixture.
