Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined; do not overmix.

Pour half of the batter into the prepared cake tin, then spread the raspberry jam on top, and pour the remaining batter over it.
