Esquites with Pig's Feet

Cultural Context

Esquites, a popular Mexican street food, originated from the indigenous practice of enjoying corn. Traditionally served in cups, this dish celebrates the sweet and savory flavors of corn combined with various toppings. The addition of pig's feet creates a rich and hearty variation, showcasing the resourcefulness of Mexican cooking. Today, esquites can be found in many variations across Mexico and beyond, often enjoyed at fairs and street stalls.
