2 ¾ cups water
Oil for cooking pupusas (vegetable / olive oil are fine)
1 ½ cups beef brisket
1 cup Mexican cheese blend
¼ - ½ cup crumbled queso
½ cup cilantro
1 small jalapeño (seeds out / in – up to you)
¾ cup sour cream
¼ - ½ tsp salt
2-3 tbsp lime juice

Combine flour, salt, paprika, and water together in mixing bowl – mix well until a thicker consistency of dough forms, like playdoh, and set aside.

Combine meat and cheese and form into 1.5 inches in diameter balls.

Take about 2 tbsp scoops of dough and form into a bowl, add a ball of meat and cheese; mold into a ball covering the meat-cheese ball entirely with the dough.

Carefully flatten the dough ball with the meat-cheese inside into a 3/5 inch in diameter patty.

Heat 2 tbsp oil on medium high – add pupusa patties onto skillet and cook on each side for about 5-8 minutes until brown on each side.

Remove the patties onto a serving platter when cooked.

Garnish with crumbled queso and cilantro.
