Slow Cooker Split Pea Soup with Ham and Potatoes

Take a bag of leftover ham and use it to make pea soup.
Boil the ham bone for a couple of hours.
Add carrots and onions to the boiling ham bone.
Add potatoes to the pot and let it boil for a little while longer.
Remove the ham bone from the pot and separate the meat from the fat and bone.
Shred the meat and return it to the pot with the carrots, potatoes, and onions.
Mash the carrots and potatoes in the pot.
Add H base to enhance the ham flavor of the soup.
Add more leftover ham to the pot.
Add some broth from the baked ham that has been skimmed of fat.
Add dried green split peas to the pot and let it simmer for 45 minutes to an hour, adjusting the heat as necessary.
Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce to a low simmer.
After about an hour, check the consistency of the soup and add brown sugar for sweetness.
Add more water if the soup is too thick.
Add liquid smoke for flavor before serving.
