Rhubarb Sauce

5 cups rhubarb
2.5 cups rhubarb
1/3 cup sugar
1/4 cup water
1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg

Wash the rhubarb under the faucet.

Chop the rhubarb into smaller pieces, about three-quarters of an inch.

Measure out 2.5 cups of chopped rhubarb, saving the rest for later.

In a saucepan, combine 1/4 cup of water and 1/3 cup of sugar.

Bring the mixture to a boil on an electric stove.

Add the 2.5 cups of rhubarb to the boiling mixture.

Reduce the heat and cover the saucepan.

Cook for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.

After cooking, add 1/8 teaspoon of ground nutmeg to the sauce.
