8 servings
Servings4
5 cups cream
1 cup sugar
1/4 cup cornstarch
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
melted butter for drizzling
cinnamon sugar (2 parts sugar to 1 part cinnamon)
2 pre-baked pie shells
1

Warm 5 cups of cream in a thick-bottom pot until it almost boils.

2

In a separate bowl, mix 1 cup of sugar and 1/4 cup of cornstarch together until well combined.

3

Slowly add the sugar and cornstarch mixture to the warm cream while stirring continuously to avoid burning.

4

Cook the mixture for about 5 to 8 minutes until it thickens, stirring constantly to achieve a smooth consistency.

5

Pre-bake the pie shells for 10 minutes at 350 degrees Fahrenheit before adding the filling.

6

Once the filling has thickened, remove it from heat and add 1 tablespoon of vanilla extract and melted butter, stirring until smooth.

7

Pour the filling into the pre-baked pie shells, ensuring an even distribution.

8

Drizzle melted butter on top of the filling in each pie shell to help the topping stick.

9

Sprinkle the cinnamon sugar mixture evenly over the top of the pies.

10

Bake the pies in the oven at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 20 minutes.

11

Remove the pies from the oven and let them cool for 3 hours before serving.
