1

Transfer the oil into a big pot.

2

Add the minced onion, cook for 2-3 minutes with the lid on.

3

Add the ground beef to the onions and cook until the beef is roasted.

4

When the beef is cooked, add salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes.

5

Transfer the flour into a large bowl and add the salt.

6

Start kneading while you slowly add water until the dough is medium hard.

7

Cover the dough and leave for at least half an hour.

8

Cut the dough into 12 equal pieces and roll each piece until very thin.

9

Place the rolled dough into a greased oven tray.

10

Beat an egg and add two tablespoons of yogurt and the leftover oil to make the sauce, lightening it with some water.

11

Pour three tablespoons of the sauce on the phyllo dough and brush it all around.

12

On the fourth layer, spread some of the meat mix you prepared.

13

After the second layer, add some more of the ground beef mix.

14

Lay 4 or 5 more layers of dough, increasing cooking time if desired.

15

Beat an egg with a tablespoon of yogurt and spread it all around the top of the börek.

16

Bake in a pre-heated oven at 200°C (400°F) for 35 to 40 minutes until the top is browned.
