Originating from Algeria, Bricks are a beloved street food, often enjoyed as a snack or appetizer. Traditionally filled with spiced meat, they embody the rich flavors of North African cuisine. Today, variations abound, with fillings ranging from vegetables to seafood, making them popular not just in Algeria but across the Maghreb region and beyond.

Preheat oil in a deep pan over medium heat.
Sauté chopped onion until translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
Add ground beef to the pan and cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes.
Stir in minced garlic, parsley, cumin, paprika, salt, and pepper; cook for 2-3 minutes.
Remove the mixture from heat and let it cool slightly.
In a bowl, combine the meat mixture with beaten eggs and cheese.
Lay out a sheet of brick pastry on a clean surface.
Place a spoonful of the filling in the center of the pastry.
Fold the pastry over the filling to form a triangle, sealing the edges.
Repeat with remaining pastry and filling.
Carefully place the filled bricks into the hot oil.
Fry until golden brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes per side.
Remove from oil and drain on paper towels.
Serve hot with lemon wedges on the side.
