Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef (80/20)
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 4 hamburger buns
  • 4 slices of cheddar cheese
  • Lettuce leaves
  • Tomato slices
  • Pickles
  • Ketchup
  • Mustard

Instructions

  1. 1In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix gently until just combined.
  2. 2Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape them into patties, making a slight indentation in the center of each patty to prevent puffing during cooking.
  3. 3Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. If using a grill, oil the grates to prevent sticking.
  4. 4Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on one side, then flip them over.
  5. 5If using cheese, place a slice on each patty during the last minute of cooking to melt.
  6. 6Toast the hamburger buns on the grill or in a toaster until golden brown.
  7. 7Assemble the burgers by placing a patty on the bottom half of each bun.
  8. 8Top with lettuce, tomato slices, pickles, ketchup, and mustard as desired.
  9. 9Cover with the top half of the bun and serve immediately.

  • 1/2 tsp salt
