Ingredients

  • 2 cups ramen noodles
  • 4 cups beef broth
  • 1 cup miso paste
  • 1 lb beef chuck, cut into cubes
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp oregano
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 lime, cut into wedges
  • Fresh cilantro, for garnish
  • Chopped green onions, for garnish

Instructions

  1. 1In a large pot, heat vegetable oil over medium heat. Add chopped onion and minced garlic, sauté until translucent.
  2. 2Add the beef chuck cubes to the pot and brown on all sides.
  3. 3Stir in chili powder, cumin, oregano, black pepper, and salt. Cook for another minute to toast the spices.
  4. 4Pour in the beef broth and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and let it simmer for about 1.5 hours, or until the beef is tender.
  5. 5Once the beef is tender, remove it from the pot and shred it using two forks. Set aside.
  6. 6In a separate bowl, mix the miso paste with a ladle of hot broth until smooth. Stir this mixture back into the pot.
  7. 7Add soy sauce and adjust seasoning if necessary. Let it simmer for another 10 minutes.
  8. 8Meanwhile, cook the ramen noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  9. 9To serve, place a portion of ramen noodles in a bowl, ladle the birria miso broth over the noodles, and top with shredded beef.

  • 4 cups chicken broth
  • 1 cup water

  5. 5Pour in the chicken broth and water, then add the Cajun seasoning, okra, salt, and black pepper. Bring to a boil.
