Start by prepping the vegetables: cut down the celery and bell pepper, and chop the onion.

In a 12-inch cast iron skillet, melt 2 tablespoons of butter and add 2 tablespoons of olive oil to prevent the butter from burning.

Add the chopped onion to the skillet, followed by the celery and bell pepper, and stir to combine.

Sauté the vegetables for about 8-10 minutes until they become soft, stirring occasionally.

Add 4 cloves of minced garlic to the skillet and stir, allowing it to sweat and release its aroma.

Add seasoning to the mixture and swirl in 1 cup of water to deglaze the pan, scraping up any residue.

Bring the mixture to a boil and then add 1 tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce, mixing well.

Let the mixture cook uncovered for about 7-10 minutes until it thickens, then add 1 bay leaf and reduce the heat to a simmer.

Add Tabasco sauce to taste for heat, and mix well.

Add 1 pound of cleaned and deveined shrimp to the skillet, stirring to combine, and cook for about 2-3 minutes until the shrimp curl and are cooked through.

Remove the skillet from heat and serve the shrimp creole over cooked rice, garnished with parsley and lemon.
