Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).

Spray a 9 by 13 baking pan with non-stick cooking spray.

Dump the cherry pie filling and the undrained crushed pineapple into the pan and mix them together.

Sprinkle the gluten-free yellow cake mix evenly over the fruit mixture in the pan.

Melt 1 cup of butter and pour it over the cake mix evenly.

If the cake mix isn't fully covered by the butter, use a spatula to smooth it out.

Bake in the oven at 350°F for 45 to 50 minutes until the fruit is bubbling and the cake is brown.

Optionally, add walnuts to half of the cake, or skip them altogether if desired.

Serve warm, optionally with whipped topping or ice cream.
