Dried fruit adds natural sweetness and nutrients.

1

Make the cookie dough.

2

Cut the dough into 3 equal pieces. Color one piece of the dough with red gel food coloring.

3

Fold the color into the dough.

4

Color another piece of dough with blue gel food coloring. Fold the color into the dough.

5

Wrap each piece in plastic and chill the dough in the fridge for one hour.

6

Break the dough into small pieces and place them onto a sheet of parchment paper.

7

Place another sheet of parchment on top and roll the dough to a little less than 1/4" thick.

8

Chill the dough sheet for about 30 minutes. Cut the cookies using the bow cookie cutters.

9

Bake the cookies at 350˚F for 10-12 minutes.

10

Press the scraps together and re-roll them to cut more cookies.

11

Place a couple of drops of Super Red and Royal Blue airbrush color into a paint palette. Add a few drops of vodka, grain alcohol, or any flavor extract to dilute the color. Use an edible ink marker to draw the sections of the bow.

12

Fill in the two top loops of the bow with flood consistency icing.

13

Use the scribe tool to help shape the icing.

14

Apply the airbrush color to the wet icing with a brush.

15

Drag the scribe tool through the icing to create a tie dye effect, starting from the center and moving out toward the edges of the cookie.

16

Fill in the tails of the bow with flood consistency icing and repeat the previous step to create a tie dye effect.

17

Allow the icing to crust over for about 15-20 minutes before filling in and painting the remaining bow loops.

18

Let the icing crust over for another 15-20 minutes and repeat the process again for the bow center. Allow the icing to dry for about 2 hours.

19

Outline each section of the bow with slightly thinned stiff consistency icing.

20

Assemble the cookies by piping a little bit of the slightly thinned stiff icing to the back of one of the center cut-out pieces.

21

Attach it to an un-iced bow cookie. Pipe icing on the back of another center cut-out piece and stack it on top.

22

Fill the hole in the center with sprinkles.

23

Pipe icing on the back of the decorated bow cookie and place it over the sprinkle filled cookie.
