S'mores are a classic American campfire treat, traditionally made with graham crackers, chocolate, and toasted marshmallows. This bar version captures the same nostalgic flavors in a convenient format, making it perfect for gatherings or a sweet treat at home. Variations abound, with some incorporating different types of chocolate or adding nuts, showcasing the dish's adaptability and popularity across generations.

Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
Crush graham crackers in a food processor or a Ziploc bag until they reach a sand-like consistency.
Add sugar (optional), melted butter, and vanilla extract to the crushed graham crackers and mix until it looks like wet sand.
Pour the mixture into an 8x8 or 9x9 baking dish lined with parchment paper and spread it out evenly.
Use a flat-bottomed glass to compress the crust down evenly.
Bake the crust in the preheated oven for 8 to 10 minutes until golden brown.
Remove the crust from the oven and add a layer of mini marshmallows and semi-sweet chocolate chips on top, covering the crust.
Return to the oven and bake for another 8 to 10 minutes until the marshmallows are melted and gooey.
For a toasted top, switch the oven to broil, and add more marshmallows, then broil until toasted to your liking.
