Ingredients

  • 4 chicken hot dogs
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 4 hot dog buns
  • 1/2 cup sauerkraut (optional)
  • 1/4 cup mustard (optional)

Instructions

  1. 1Preheat your smoker to 225°F (107°C).
  2. 2In a small bowl, mix together the olive oil, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and salt.
  3. 3Brush the chicken hot dogs with the spice mixture until evenly coated.
  4. 4Place the hot dogs in the smoker and smoke for about 1 hour, or until they reach an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
  5. 5While the hot dogs are smoking, prepare your hot dog buns by toasting them lightly on a grill or in the oven if desired.
  6. 6Once the hot dogs are done, remove them from the smoker and let them rest for a few minutes.
  7. 7Assemble the hot dogs by placing each smoked chicken hot dog in a bun.
  8. 8Top with sauerkraut and mustard if desired, and serve immediately.
