2 cups Masa flour
1.5 cups water
0.5 teaspoons salt
1 tablespoon shredded cheese (Mexican cheese, mozzarella, cheddar, or Monterey Jack)

Pour 2 cups of Masa flour into a bowl.

Add 1.5 cups of water to the Masa flour.

Mix the ingredients together until it forms a dough.

Add 0.5 teaspoons of salt to the dough and mix well.

Divide the dough into six pieces.

Flatten each piece into a ball.

Take about 1 tablespoon of shredded cheese and place it in the center of the flattened dough.

Fold the edges of the dough over the cheese to hide it.

Flatten the filled dough into a disc about 5-6 inches across and 1/4 inch thick.

Heat a pan over medium heat and add 1.5 to 2 tablespoons of oil.

Cook each papusa for 4 to 5 minutes on each side until golden brown.
