1 onion, diced
3 tablespoons tomato paste
2 teaspoons peri-peri powder
canola oil
1 cup warm water
3 tablespoons Knorr soup powder

Add mopane worms to a dish and cover with hot water for 15-30 minutes to reconstitute and wash them.

Drain and rinse the mopane worms after soaking.

Heat canola oil in a pot and sauté diced onions until almost brown.

Add the reconstituted mopane worms on top of the sautéed onions.

Add a pinch of salt and 1 cup of warm water to the pot.

Let the mixture simmer until the water starts to disappear.

Add chopped tomatoes on top of the mopane worms.

Squeeze in 3 tablespoons of tomato paste and stir.

Add 2 teaspoons of peri-peri powder to the mixture.

Simmer without covering the pot to allow moisture to escape.

Mix 3 tablespoons of Knorr soup powder with 1 cup of cold water and add to the pot.

Let it simmer on low heat until the soup thickens.
