1 and 1/2 to 1 and 3/4 lbs ground beef (80/20)
bell pepper (about 1/3 of a whole)
1 onion (any type)
crushed tomatoes (about half of a can)
brown sugar (to taste)
chili powder (to taste)
onion powder (to taste)
garlic powder (to taste)
salt (to taste)
pepper (to taste)
hot sauce (to taste)
tomato paste (1-2 tablespoons)

Drizzle grape seed oil (or any vegetable oil) in a pan.

Chop bell pepper and set aside about a third for another recipe.

Saute the bell peppers until tender, about 5 minutes.

Add cooked ground beef (1 and 1/2 to 1 and 3/4 lbs) back into the pan with the bell peppers.

Add chopped onion (1 onion) to the pan and stir everything together.

Eyeball and add about half a can of crushed tomatoes to the mixture.

Add brown sugar (to taste), chili powder, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper to the mixture.

Incorporate all ingredients well and adjust seasoning as needed.

Add 1-2 tablespoons of tomato paste to thicken the mixture later if desired.

Add hot sauce (like Tabasco) to taste, depending on desired spiciness.

Cover the pan and simmer on low heat for about 20-25 minutes, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking.
