1

Blend butter cookies and walnuts in a food processor until finely ground, about 30 seconds to a minute.

2

Transfer the mixture to a large bowl.

3

In a second bowl, add sugar, butter, and water, then microwave until hot enough to melt.

4

Whisk the mixture well, then add it to the cookie nut mixture and mix again.

5

Take 2/3 of this mixture and put it in a separate bowl.

6

Melt 3 oz of dark chocolate in a microwave, then add it back to the 2/3 cookie nut mixture and blend.

7

Spread half of the chocolate cookie nut mixture in the bottom of an 8x8 inch pan using dampened fingers or a small flat spatula.

8

Top with the plain cookie nut mixture, then spread the second half of the chocolate cookie nut mixture evenly over the top.

9

To make the chocolate glaze, add chocolate, sugar, and water in a bowl and microwave, then mix well.

10

Gradually add 3 oz of butter and whisk until all the butter is melted and the glaze is mixed well.

11

Pour the chocolate glaze over the torta and chill in the refrigerator for 1 to 2 hours.
