4 tablespoons butter
1 tablespoon vanilla
12 ounces evaporated milk
1/2 teaspoon salt
6 tablespoons all-purpose flour

Add 6 tablespoons of all-purpose flour to a cold saucepan.

Add 2 cups of packed brown sugar to the saucepan and stir.

Add 1/2 teaspoon of salt and stir again.

Add 12 ounces of evaporated milk and 1 tablespoon of vanilla to the mixture.

Add 4 tablespoons of butter to the saucepan.

Turn the heat to medium and bring the mixture to a light boil, stirring consistently to prevent scorching.

Once it reaches a slight boil and thickens (about 20 minutes), remove from heat.

Pour the mixture into a pie crust.

Bake in a preheated oven at 400 degrees Fahrenheit for 5 minutes.

After 5 minutes, reduce the oven temperature to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and bake for an additional 25 minutes.
