1

Brown 1 pound of ground chuck in a pan without adding oil until mostly cooked.

2

Add in a little over 1 cup of carrots, 2 tablespoons of garlic, 1 yellow onion, 2 pinches of salt, 1 tablespoon of black pepper, and 1 tablespoon of thyme to the browned meat and mix well.

3

Cook the mixture until the onions are translucent and the carrots are tender.

4

Add in 1 cup of beef broth and 1 can of diced tomatoes, then mix and let it reduce down for about 20 minutes until the liquid is mostly gone.

5

Microwave 3 russet potatoes for about 11 minutes, then let them sit for 10 minutes to cool before peeling.

6

Mash the cooled potatoes and add salt and pepper to taste.

7

Add 2 egg yolks and 1/2 cup of parmesan cheese to the mashed potatoes and mix well.

8

Transfer the cooled meat mixture to a baking dish and top with the potato mixture, spreading it evenly.
