Hamburger Sliders

AmericanUSmain
30 min
easy
12 servings
Servings4
1 ⅓ pound ground beef
½ white or yellow onion, finely chopped, divided
1 tablespoon Worcestershire, divided
1 teaspoon kosher salt
½ teaspoon fresh ground black pepper
½ teaspoon garlic powder
½ teaspoon onion powder
12 Hawaiian rolls
¼ cup ketchup
¼ cup mayonnaise
4 tablespoons unsalted butter
1 tablespoon brown sugar
1

Preheat the oven to 350 F.

2

Combine the ground beef, half the chopped onion, 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce, kosher salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.

3

Press into an even layer in the bottom of a 9x13-inch baking dish.

4

Bake meat mixture for 20 minutes.

5

While the meat is baking, melt the butter in a saucepan.

6

Add the rest of the minced onion. Reduce heat to low and allow it to simmer for 5-10 minutes.

7

After 5-10 minutes, turn off the heat and add the remaining teaspoon of Worcestershire sauce to the butter and onion, as well as the brown sugar. Stir to combine thoroughly.

8

Combine the ketchup and mayonnaise in a small bowl and set aside.

9

Remove the meat and onion mixture from the oven, and drain off the juices. Gently take the meat out of the pan with a spatula.

10

Using a large serrated knife, slice the Hawaiian rolls horizontally. Place the bottom half in the pan.

11

Top bottom half of sliders with the cooked meat.

12

Spread approximately half of the ketchup and mayo mixture on the underside of the top buns.

13

Place the top buns over the meat mixture. Pour the butter-onion mixture over the bun tops and use a spatula or spoon to distribute the sauce evenly.

14

Cover the baking dish with an oven-safe lid or with tin foil. Bake for 10 min, then uncover and bake for 10-15 more minutes, until the buns are golden.

15

Serve with the remaining sauce for dunking.
