Instructions

  1. 1Prepare bamboo by soaking in water for at least 30 minutes.

  3. 3Marinate the chicken with soy sauce, ginger, garlic, sesame oil, and five-spice powder for at least 1 hour.
  4. 4Rinse and drain the rice, then mix it with chopped bamboo shoots and scallions.
  5. 5Stuff the marinated chicken with the rice mixture.
  6. 6Wrap the chicken in bamboo leaves or place it in a bamboo steamer.
  7. 7Place the wrapped chicken in a steamer over boiling water.

  • 1 cup brown rice
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 lb chicken breast, diced
  • 1 tbsp olive oil

Instructions

  1. 1Rinse the brown rice under cold water until the water runs clear.
  2. 2In a medium saucepan, combine the rinsed rice and water. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for about 45 minutes or until the rice is tender and water is absorbed.
  3. 3In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and garlic, sauté until translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
  4. 4Add the diced chicken breast to the skillet. Season with salt, black pepper, paprika, and cumin. Cook until the chicken is browned and cooked through, about 6-8 minutes.
  5. 5Stir in the diced bell pepper and broccoli florets. Cook for an additional 5 minutes until the vegetables are tender.
