1 can 15.5 oz garbanzo beans rinsed
1 can 15.5 oz pinto beans rinsed
1/4 cup lentil rinsed
1/4 cup short grain rice rinsed
1/4 cup coarse bulgur
2 Tbsp tomato paste
2 Tbsp dried tarragon leaves
3 Tbsp dried mint leaves for the stew
2 Tbsp dried mint for the topping
8 cups water or more if needed
Salt and black pepper to taste
3 large onions sliced
4 Tbsp oil
