Its simplicity belies the rich flavors that come from the combination of creamy yogurt and fragrant spices, making it a beloved comfort food in Turkey and beyond.

Grate 2 garlic cloves into 1 cup of plain full-fat Greek yogurt.
Add 1/2 tsp red chili flakes and a handful of chopped fresh dill to the yogurt.
Add salt and black pepper to taste.
Pour in 1/2 Tbsp olive oil and thoroughly mix until well combined.
Heat a small saucepan over medium high heat and add 3 Tbsp butter.
Melt the butter until it begins to bubble, then add 1/2 tsp smoked paprika and 1 tsp red chili flakes.
Swiftly whisk in the spices and stir for about 20-30 seconds before removing from heat.
Heat a medium saucepan of water until it simmers and add 1 Tbsp of vinegar.
Crack an egg into a small cup and gently ease it into the simmering water.
Allow the egg to cook for 3-4 minutes, allowing the egg whites to wrap around the yolk.
Use a slotted spoon to lift the egg from the water and let it drain on a dish lined with a paper towel.
Repeat the poaching process for a total of 4 eggs for 2 servings.
Distribute the yogurt mixture evenly onto plates.
Place the poached eggs in the garlic yogurt.
Drizzle the chili oil over the eggs and garnish with some fresh dill.
Serve with a slice of toasted bread.
