Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
Peel, core, and slice 6 granny smith apples to yield about 4 to 4 1/2 cups of apple slices.
In a large, heavy-bottomed pot, melt 4 tablespoons of unsalted butter over medium high heat.
In a large bowl, combine the apple slices with 1 cup of light brown sugar, 1/2 cup of granulated sugar, 1/4 cup of all purpose unbleached flour, 1 1/2 teaspoons of ground cinnamon, and 1/2 teaspoon of ground nutmeg. Shake the bowl to incorporate the ingredients.
Transfer the apple mixture into the pot with melted butter and cook until the apples are fork tender and have macerated with the flour and sugar.
Fold in 1 cup of cranberry sauce with whole berries into the apple mixture and let it cool.
Roll out a disc of pie crust on a floured surface, turning continuously to create a circle.
Transfer the rolled crust onto a pie pan, pressing it into the bottom and trimming the excess crust with a butter knife.
Use the scraps to create decorative shapes with a pie crust mold and attach them to the edge of the pie crust with egg wash (1 egg mixed with 1 tablespoon of water).
Chill the pie crust in the fridge while rolling out another disc of crust for decorative cutouts.
Dip crust cutters in flour before cutting out shapes from the second disc of pie crust.
Place the pie crust on a baking sheet and fill it with the apple cranberry filling.
Apply an egg wash to the top of the pie crust using a silicone pastry brush.
Bake the pie in the oven at 350 degrees for 35 to 45 minutes.
If the pie crust browns too quickly, use a silicone pie shield to cover it.
