Traditionally made with tender beef, onions, and a creamy sauce, it became a symbol of Russian cuisine. Today, Stroganoff has global variations, often featuring chicken or mushrooms, and is enjoyed in many cultures.

Add tomato paste to the slow cooker.
Add tomato puree to the slow cooker.
Pour in beef stock into the slow cooker.
Add mustard to the slow cooker.
Roughly chop 2 onions and add them to the slow cooker.
Roughly chop 3 cloves of garlic and add them to the slow cooker.
Add paprika to the slow cooker.
Season with salt and pepper.
Cut blade steak into strips and add to the slow cooker.
Mix all ingredients in the slow cooker to combine and avoid lumps.
Put the lid on the slow cooker.
Cook on auto for 7 to 9 hours or on high for 4 to 5 hours.
One hour before the cooking time is up, add 500 g of lightly chopped mushrooms to the slow cooker.
Stir the mushrooms into the mixture in the slow cooker.
If the mixture looks dry, add a bit of water to prevent it from drying out.
40 minutes before serving, keep the lid on the slow cooker.
20 minutes before serving, add sour cream to the slow cooker.
Stir the sour cream into the mixture to combine.
Let the mixture cook for another 20 minutes before serving.
Serve the beef stroganoff in a bowl with brown rice.
