1

Cut garlic in half and wipe the inside of the baking pan with the cut surface.

2

Brush the baking sheet with half of the cream (about 7 grams).

3

Grate the cheese and divide it into two parts: 40 grams for the sauce and 30 grams for the top.

4

Select potatoes of similar size and peel them without soaking to avoid starch loss.

5

Slice the potatoes to a thickness of about 0.2 to 0.3 cm.

6

In a pot, add milk, fresh cream, and 40 grams of cheese. Heat over medium heat until slightly boiled.

7

Once it starts to roll slightly, turn to low heat and add salt, pepper, and nutmeg powder, stirring well.

8

Add the potato slices to the pot and stir gently for about 5 minutes to let the starch release slowly.

9

When the sauce is slightly thicker, turn off the heat.

10

Spread half of the potato slices in the baking dish layer by layer and drizzle with sauce.

11

Spread the remaining potato slices and sauce on top.

12

Sprinkle the remaining cream and cheese evenly on the surface.

13

Preheat the oven to 180°C and bake for 70 to 80 minutes.

14

Let the gratin stand for 10 minutes before serving.
