Cheesy Ham and Potato Casserole

5 medium potatoes
2 cups ham
1 small onion
3 tablespoons butter
3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
milk

Boil water in a pot.

Cut potatoes into half-inch pieces and add to boiling water to pre-cook.

In a separate pan, melt 3 tablespoons of butter.

Add 2 cups of ham to the pan and warm it up.

Chop and add 1 small onion to the ham in the pan.

Cook until the onion is softened and fragrant.

Drain the pre-cooked potatoes and layer them on top of the ham and onion mixture in a greased casserole dish.

In the same pan, add 3 tablespoons of flour to the remaining butter and stir to make a roux.

Gradually add milk to the roux while stirring until it thickens.

Season the mixture with garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper.
