1

In a bowl, combine 12 oz of Guinness, 1/2 cup of vegetable oil, 1/2 cup of milk, 3 eggs, and 1 tablespoon of vanilla extract. Whisk together until well combined.

2

Fold in 3/4 cup of sour cream into the wet mixture.

3

In a separate large bowl, combine 3/4 cup of cocoa powder, 2 1/2 cups of flour, 2 cups of sugar, and 1 1/2 teaspoons of baking soda. Whisk together until combined.

4

Slowly add the dry mixture into the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.

5

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two cupcake tins with paper liners.

6

Fill the cupcake liners about half to 3/4 full with the batter.

7

Bake in the preheated oven for about 25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

8

Once baked, place the cupcakes on a wire rack to cool completely.

9

In a stand mixer or with a hand mixer, beat 1 1/2 cups of softened butter until creamy.

10

Gradually add in 4 cups of powdered sugar in batches, mixing well.

11

Add 1 tablespoon of vanilla extract and 2-3 tablespoons of heavy cream, adjusting for desired consistency. Beat for 6-7 minutes until light and fluffy.
