Steamed Broccoli

1 head of broccoli
2 quarts water
1 tablespoon kosher salt
1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
1 tablespoon butter

Cut the broccoli into spears.

In a pot, add about 2 quarts of water and 1 tablespoon of kosher salt.

Bring the water to a boil.

Prepare a bowl of ice water for shocking the broccoli after cooking.

Once the water is boiling, add the broccoli to the pot.

Cook the broccoli for about 30 seconds until it turns bright green.

Turn off the heat and transfer the broccoli to the ice bath to stop the cooking process.

Mix the broccoli in the ice bath to ensure it cools completely.

Once cooled, remove the broccoli from the ice bath and place it in a Tupperware for later use.

When ready to serve, heat a burner and add about 1 tablespoon of extra virgin olive oil and 1 tablespoon of butter to a pan.

Melt the butter and olive oil together.
