Fill a pot with water and put it on high heat to boil.
Add the steamer basket with 2 lb of broccoli florets before the water boils.
Cover the pot and let the broccoli steam for about 10 minutes.
Prepare the garlic and ginger while the broccoli is steaming.
In a hot pan, add 1 tablespoon of cooking oil and coat it nicely.
Add 1 tablespoon of sliced garlic and 1 tablespoon of sliced ginger to the pan.
Sauté the garlic and ginger until they infuse flavor into the oil, being careful not to burn them.
Add 1/2 cup of sliced spring onions (scallions) to the pan and reduce the heat.
Sauté the scallions for about a minute until they become soft.
Remove the steamed broccoli from the basket and add it to the pan with the garlic, ginger, and scallions.
Mix the broccoli with the oil and vegetables, removing any excess water.
Add 2 tablespoons of soy sauce, a little sriracha for heat, and 1 teaspoon of sesame oil to the pan.
Toss everything together on high heat.
Finish by adding sesame seeds for garnish and toss again.
