1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/4 cup sliced almonds
1/2 cup unsalted butter (softened)
1 large egg
1/4 cup flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 teaspoon almond extract
1 teaspoon lemon zest

Preheat the oven to 350°F.

Split the storebought croissants in half and set them aside on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

In a bowl, add softened unsalted butter.

Using a hand mixer, cream the butter until smooth.

Add eggs, flour, salt, vanilla extract, almond extract, ground almonds, and lemon zest to the bowl.

Mix the ingredients for a few minutes until the mixture is thick and moussey in texture.

Take a couple tablespoons of the almond cream and smear it in the center of each croissant half.

Place the top half of the croissant back on and smear more almond cream on top.

Bake the croissants in the preheated oven for 18 to 20 minutes or until deeply golden brown on top.
