Add a wee bit of oil to a pan over medium high heat.
Add 1 pound of medium ground beef to the pan and break it up, frying until browned.
Drain excess fat from the beef and set aside.
In the same pan, add 1 small chopped onion and 3 cloves of minced garlic, sautéing until fragrant.
Mix the sautéed onion and garlic with the ground beef.
Add 680 ml (2.7 cups) of marinara sauce to the mixture.
Add 1 cup of beef stock to the jar, swirl to get the remaining marinara sauce, and pour it in.
Stir in 1/2 cup of heavy cream for a creamy texture.
Season with salt, ground black pepper, 2 teaspoons of Italian seasoning, 1 teaspoon of smoked paprika, and 1/2 teaspoon of hot pepper flakes, then mix well.
Add 8 oz of broken lasagna noodles to the mixture and stir to combine.
Reduce heat and bring to a soft boil, then cover and let simmer for about 15 minutes until noodles are cooked.
After 15 minutes, add 1 cup of shredded mozzarella cheese and 1 cup of shredded extra old sharp cheddar cheese on top.
Tear fresh basil and sprinkle over the cheese.
Turn the heat down to low, cover, and let the cheese melt for a few minutes.
