Chop 1 onion and 2 cloves of garlic.
Sauté onion and garlic in a skillet until tender, about 2-3 minutes.
Add 0.5 pound ground beef and 0.5 pound ground Italian sausage to the skillet and cook until no longer pink, about 5 minutes.
Drain excess fat from the skillet, leaving some flavor behind.
Add 1 teaspoon salt to the meat mixture.
Stir in 1 jar of marinara sauce (Arabiata) and 0.33 cup basil pesto.
Zest half a lemon into the mixture and add black pepper to taste.
Break 6 oz of oven-ready lasagna noodles into 1-2 inch pieces and stir into the sauce until coated.
Spread the noodles out in the skillet to lay flat.
Top with thinly sliced mozzarella cheese and dollop additional basil pesto on top.
Cover the skillet with foil, being careful not to touch the mozzarella.
